1. DIY Decoration From Pistachio Shells
You’ll Need:
pistachio shells
hot glue gun
green spray paint
Glue individual pistachio shells together so that they resemble a succulent. Spray the finished “plant” with green spray paint and then simply place it in a flower pot.
2. Dye Fabrics Pink With Avocados
You’ll Need:
avocado peels
avocado pits
stovetop + pot
Put the avocado peels and pits in a pot of water over low heat and let them simmer for about 60 minutes. Then remove the peels and pits from the pot and put the garment you want to dye in the pot. The tannins in avocados produce a natural pink dye.
3. DIY Magic Eraser From Old Bread
If your bread is already starting to mold around the edges, don’t just toss it. Cut a circle out of the piece of bread with a glass and use it to clean your dirty walls and smudged surfaces.
4. Dissolve Rust With Sour Milk
If your milk has gone sour, there’s no need to pour it out just yet. Sour milk is actually an excellent rust remover because the lactic acid dissolves rust. To get the most out of your old expired milk, put the rusty cutlery in a bowl with the old milk and let it soak until the rust dissolves.
5. DIY Aromatic Candle From Bacon Grease
You’ll Need:
bacon grease
sieve
cinnamon
ground cloves
tealight candle holder
candle wick
Pour old bacon grease through a sieve into a tealight candle holder. Add cinnamon and ground cloves, mix well, add a candle wick, and let the fat set. The spices will mask the smell of the bacon so you’re left with a pretty, aromatic DIY candle that smells like cinnamon and cloves.
6. Polish Shoes With Banana Peels
If you don’t have any shoe polish on hand, a banana peel will do. Rub the inside of a banana peel on your leather shoes and then wipe them with a cloth. The fat from the banana peel will make them look brand new.
