1. Breadcrumbs for breading chicken
Remove the crust of bread and pass it in a food processor to be ground. We can flavor crumbs with dried herbs, spices, add 1 tbsp mustard or 1 clove garlic grated. Bake for 30 minutes at 175 F. Then we breading chicken dipping it first in beaten egg and then in the mixture.
Cut the bread into medium slices and bake for 40 minutes at 160 F.
3. Croutons for Salad
Remove the crust of bread and cut the rest into square medium pieces. In a pan, put 2 tablespoons olive oil and saute the bread. Alternatively, bake in oven for 10 minutes at 360 F for a lighter result.
Cut the bread into medium slices and sprinkle them with a bit of olive oil. You can flavor with dried herbs, spices, garlic crushed or whatever else you like. Bake in the oven grill for 2-3 minutes. Add on top chopped tomato, cheese, oregano and enjoy.
5. Ten minute Pizza with bread
Instead of dough, lay in a fireproof plain sliced bread and add tomato sauce, cheese, ham or vegetables. Bake in oven at 360 F for 10 minutes
Cut the bread into thin slices and remove the crust. Spread some butter and lay slices on a fireproof dish. Cover with grated cheese or cold cuts. Spread over a new layer of bread and continue with cheese. Make two or three layers. Then, in a bowl, beat 5 eggs with 2 cups milk and pour in the soufflé. Bake for 30 minutes at 360 F.
7. French toast
Even desserts you can make with stale bread like French toast.
- 6 slices bread
- 2 eggs
- 60 gr. sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla powder
- 1 teaspoon fresh olive oil
- castor sugar
- 5 tablespoons butter
In a deep bowl, beat the eggs with the milk, sugar and vanilla. Dip in the mixture bread slices and leave for a few seconds to soak. If use thin slices, just get them wet.
In a nonstick pan warm the butter with the oil. Then add two bread slices and let golden for about 1 minute on each side. Once they are ready, put them in a large dish and sprinkle with castor sugar.
8. Sweet Pudding with banana
- 1 large egg
- whites from 2 large eggs
- 1 cup. whole milk
- 1/4 cup. brown sugar and 2 tbsp for sprinkling
- 1 cup. Yogurt
- 1 tsp grated nutmeg
- 1 tbsp cinnamon powder
- 3 cups. bread, preferably wholegrain, cut into cubes
- 2 large bananas, sliced
- 1/4 cup. raisins
How to make:
Preheat the oven to 340 F. In a large bowl mix the eggs, egg whites, milk, brown sugar, yogurt, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Add the bread cubes and leave the mixture for 15 minutes to soak. Then, add the banana slices and raisins and mix well. Sprinkle top with 2 tbsp brown sugar and bake for 50 minutes until golden pudding.
