Oftentimes, when the words “wedding” or “bride” are attached to something, the price of that object can skyrocket. Creating this simple feathered fascinator is not only simple, but it’s also easy on the budget. You can create this little bit of hair glamour for under $10!

Supplies needed to make your own wedding fascinator:

  • Large Pendant
  • Ostrich Feather Hair Clip
  • Glue Gun & Glue Sticks
  • 1 Small Clear Elastic

The feathered hair clip is lightweight and features thin white strands of ostrich feathers that reach from the center of the clip.

I wanted the feathers to all travel towards the back of my head, instead of the starburst-style they currently had.

I slipped a small clear elastic over the top of the clip and the feathers, bending them back over themselves and creating a curve. This pointed the feathers all into the same direction, while also making a little “nest” for the pendant.

I removed the jump ring from the pendant and then hot-glued it to the little feather nest. It’s important to be sure that you’re gluing the pendant to the clip itself, and not just the feathers. You want this to be a secure hold.

And here it is! A little touch of flash for a blushing bride.

Consider the weight and size of the pendant when you’re creating your fascinator. I found that an extra bobby pin was necessary to secure the clip to my super-slippery hair.

This is a quick and easy project that has big impact. Don’t feel like you have to pay “wedding dollars” to achieve a look. Make it yourself!
