- Painted wooden letter, I’m using one painted seal grey in the Plump MT font.
- Toy cars, the quantity depends on the letter size. My letter is 14″ tall and I’m using 7 cars.
- Hot glue gun and glue
- A pencil
- White and yellow paint
- Medium tipped paint brush
- Water for rinsing between colors and a paper towel to blot off any excess water
Start: Gather Up Your Materials
This is not a very messy project but you might want to put down some newspaper just in case. A ruler might also come in handy if you’re not great at creating straight lines by hand.
Step 1: Sketching the Street Lines
Using the pencil, sketch the location of your street lines and crosswalks.
Step 2: Yellow Paint
With the yellow paint add your dashed and solid street lines.
Step 3: Create the Sidewalks
Once your yellow paint has dried it is time to create the sidewalks using the white paint.
Step 4: White Stop Lines
Next to the sidewalks, on the right hand side of the road, you will add solid white lines which represent the stop lines normally found at intersections.
Step 5: Adding the Cars
Once all of your paint has dried it is time for the fun part, adding the cars! Arrange the cars where you would like them on the letter. From there use the hot glue to glue them in place.
Done!
Your toy car letter is now complete. You can either hang with double sided foam mounting tape or add your own picture hook to the back.
